Friendship with Cambodia & Prison Ministry

The Tige and Renee Smith family have been blessed with some great connections with Cambodia.  We lived there on and off through September of 2009.

The Kompongsom Bible School is the only free college we know about in Cambodia.  Tige taught Bible and Renee Art there.  The need for both Art and Bible teachers in the country is great.  Renee was Art Teacher to adult students who have never had an art class before, ever!   Pastor Moses Bible school sends graduates throughout Cambodia to start churches in unreached villages.  Click on the link to the Bible school to see a lot of cool pics of the Bible students and all the joyful children they get to teach!    Here are some of the dedicated students in Tige's class.Laughing

Prison Ministry-be a part of it!EmbarassedWRITE A Christian Prisoner:

Tige in Cambodia with Josh in feb.-March 2007:

A couple of days age we met with Christian prisoners at the PP prison.  This was my second time visiting, and for Josh it was his first.  They seemed so very happy to see us.  They were most pleased to see Josh.  As we sat together and talked it became one of those moments in time in accordance with His good pleasure.  They shared with us that they had been praying for Bible study resources.  As we emptied our two bags of Bible study supplies, they were visibly impacted by what was on the table between us.  Because of our supporters generosity, there was more than $400 worth of study materials.

As I listened to how our brothers in chains were so significantly overwhelmed by the study books, it was revealing how we can be doing so much more for our brothers and sisters in need.  They described us as an, "answered prayer".

Below are the names of those we met this day, really, the three leaders.  Please send an encouraging note.  If you have a good Christian fiction book, send it.  This would be a great family project.  They speak and read English, so please send encouraging words.  You can let them know that Tige and Renee family told you about them.: Address below:
